Engineering
cellular immunity

The Su Lab at UCLA develops technologies to engineer therapeutic cells directly in the body, making treatments more precise, affordable, and effective.

Our Mission

Translating bold ideas into therapies that improve human health.

The Su Lab aims to develop next-generation immunotherapies through precise in vivo cell engineering. Conventional cell therapies require complex and costly ex vivo manufacturing, limiting their accessibility and broad clinical application. Our research pioneers technologies that engineer cells directly within the body, with the potential to reduce manufacturing costs, improve safety, and enhance treatment outcomes of cell-based therapies. By integrating RNA therapeutics, synthetic biology, and immunoengineering, we aim to transform the treatment of cancer, autoimmune diseases, and infectious diseases.
